Europe's Top Life Sciences Academic Enterprise 2014
On October 7th, 2014 InSphero was named the winner of the 2014 ACES Life Sciences Award, the only pan-European award recognizing entrepreneurship at academic institutions. The honor, awarded by Brussels- and London-based Science|Business, was the second start-up award in a three-week span for InSphero.
Switzerland's #1 Startup in 2014
InSphero was named the #1 Swiss Startup across all industries in the 2014 Top 100 Swiss Start-Up Rankings. Read the press release here. It marked the fourth consecutive year InSphero was ranked in the Top 10, but the first time achieving the overall #1 ranking.
Switzerland's TOP 100 Startups in 2013
For the third year running, InSphero has been named as one of the top ten start-ups in Switzerland, finishing fifth in the 2013 Top 100 Swiss Start-Up Rankings. The latest rankings thus confirm the company's position as a leading supplier of three-dimensional microtissues for in vitro drug testing.

Around 100 experts from the Swiss business startup scene have ranked InSphero number 2 startup (all categories) in Switzerland and, again, as in 2011, number 1 startup in the biotech space. The jury recognized the global success of InSphero's 3D microtissue technology for more predictive compound testing and the fact that InSphero currently counts 7 of the top 10 global pharmaceutical and cosmetics companies as customers.

100 startup and early-stage-investment experts in Switzerland selected InSphero to be the best-ranking startup in the biotech space in the country. In addition, InSphero secured an excellent 6th place across all industries. With this ranking, the jury recognized the global success of InSphero's 3D microtissue technology for more predictive compound testing and the fact, that InSphero already collaborates with 7 of the top 10 pharmaceutical and cosmetics companies worldwide.
SLAS New Product Award (NPA) Designation in 2011
InSphero was declared winner of the SLAS New Product Award 2011 at the Society of Biomolecular Screening Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida. SLAS is the world’s leading scientific organization for screening and lab automation and recognized InSphero’s GravityPLUS system because it meets the urgent need for automation-formatted, highly biomimetic microtissues, suitable for use at all stages of in vitro pre-clinical discovery and predictive toxicology.
CTI Start-up Label in 2010
InSphero's fast growth and sustainable value creation over the past 24 months convinced the jury at the Swiss Commission of Innovation and Technology, who awarded the CTI Start-up Label to the company on June 22, 2010. CTI Start-up awards the most promising Swiss start-up companies and enables them to realize their innovative idea professionally.
Venture Kick Initiative in 2009
Venture kick aims for an early detection and promotion of promising business ideas at Swiss universities and schools of higher education. The goal of this privately-funded support initiative is to double the number of spin-offs by accelerating the founding process and by making startups attractive for professional investors. InSphero won all three phases of the contest and received a total of CHF 130'000 in 2009.
Heuberger Winterthur Young Entrepreneur Award in 2009
InSphero AG received the prestigious Heuberger Winterthur Young Entrepreneur Award. InSphero and two other startups received grants of 150’000 CHF, donated by the Robert and Ruth Heuberger Foundation, Winterthur, Switzerland.
